The Charlestown Farm Center is located outside Phoenixville, Pennsylvania 21 miles northwest of Center City Philadelphia, and about 80 miles southwest of New York City. The farms associated with The Center include Charlestown Farm, a 40-acre non-certified organic vegetable CSA, and Broadwater Farm a 110-acre pastured livestock operation which will begin selling grass fed beef and lamb in 2007. Broadwater Farm will ultimately include a small grass based organic dairy. The Farm Center helps organize educational events at Broadwater and Charletown Farms and at the Phoenixville Farmers' Market.

The Charlestown Farm Center was established in 2006 to:

Encourage education about the production and consumpteion of fresh, healthy, locally produced foods

• Demonstrate environmentally and financially sustainable farming in the suburbs
  
• Preserve farmland and farming communities at high risk of loss to development
